Aerial view of the capitol grounds. A large, multi-storey stone building is in the right foreground. A small cabin is in the left-center. Groomed lawn and trees surround both buildings. The city of Bismarck lies in the background.
The Liberty Memorial Building was built in 1924 and sits at the lower right corner. The building at left-center is Theodore Roosevelt's Maltese Cross cabin, which was displayed on the Capitol grounds from after his presidency until 1959, when it was returned to the Badlands near Medora.
