EXPERIENCE, 21 Calendar years teaching rural graded and consolidated schools from first grade up to and including twelfth. I ASK YOUR VOTE AND INFLUENCE"--Printed on front of flyer. "1. In the 1912 election year, the Walhalla township voters put her on the ballot for County Superintendent of schools. This was a total surprise, as she herself had not made any plans to be on the ticket. 2. After she won the election, Silvia learned to drive her first car, in spite of her physical handicap"--Handwritten on paper on the page in album. |

| Biography/History | Part of the Lily and Rose Benedictson scrapbook, page 9, Album #9, "Album in memory of these prominent pioneers of the mountain, N.D. Community. Donated to the museum by Rose & Lily Benedicton, 5/25/78" " -- Written on cover of album. The North Dakota Censuses for 1915-1925 list a Rose Bendictson born in about 1899 residing in Pembina County at the age of 26 in 1925. A Lilja Bendictson is also listed as living in Pembina County in 1925 at the age of 30, born about 1895. The materials in the scrapbook are from or about Pembina County around 1912 and the scrapbook was donated to the Pembina County Historical Museum in 1978, within the papers there are a few different spellings of Lily and Rose's last name. |
