| Biography/History | In 1938, with the assistance of federal funds and W.P.A. labor, the old city hall building was wrecked and a new reinforced concrete structure was built, the City Auditorium we have today. It was dedicated in 1939 with great fanfare and pictures. Since then the interior has been paneled and the windows have been replaced with glass block. There is a functional basement. Quarters for the National Guard business office are located there and a large room for city council meetings. |
