Biography/History "Arsenic and Old Lace" is a play written by Joseph Kesselring. Kesselring had trouble putting the play into production so Dickinson native Dorothy Stickney and her husband, Howard Lindsey, championed the play in order to get it produced. A film adaptation of the play was released in 1944 staring Cary Grant and Priscilla Lane.
