| Description | In front is a boardwalk and trees, as well as a pump well. In the background is a line of store fronts, with two floors. The signs for the post office, a store, and a bakery and resturant are visible. There is a large snowdrift in front of the buildings, in some places a whole floor high. On top of the snow drift there is thirty nine people and one dog. Two people are sticking their heads out the second floor windows in the second to last building on the right. |

| Biography/History | "In January 1897, wind blew snow up against buildings, creating a snowdrift in the city's park across from Front Street in downtown Casselton. The flatness of the Red River Valley allows wind to blow for miles before running into any obstacles. In this case, Front Street and the city's park became a resting place for a large snowdrift that built up during the storm." |
