Biography/History"In January 1897, wind blew snow up against buildings, creating a snowdrift in the city's park across from Front Street in downtown Casselton. The flatness of the Red River Valley allows wind to blow for miles before running into any obstacles. In this case, Front Street and the city's park became a resting place for a large snowdrift that built up during the storm."
