DescriptionThe Bismarck Junior College Bagpipe Band performs in a parade on 6th Street in Bismarck. Members are dressed in traditional Scottish dress and are playing bagpipes and drums. Along the street stores are visible, including the "Shriner's Cafe, " and "The Covered Wagon Bar and Lounge."

Biography/HistoryA unique organization, the bagpipe band was started in 1948 by Mr. Clarion Larson. It was directed by Mr. Harold Kepler at the time the photograph was taken. The bagpipe band of Bismarck Junior College traveled around and performed at many events. Bismarck State College had a bagpipe band on and off up to the 1990's.
