| Biography/History | Eva Plunkett was good at dropping names and telling news. "The Fargo Forum wanted my Aunt Eva to come to work for them after she left the Sun, but she didn't want to leave Jamestown. … The Alert wanted a new look to their paper and auntie was replaced by Cookie and my aunt moved over to the Stutsman County Democrat which was located in the basement of the Gladstone Hotel. Even though Cookie replaced my aunt, both of them became lifelong friends. … It was a joy to see her (Inez Cook, 'Cookie') meet the five o-clock train. She and Rev. McCoy would be there. Cookie and my aunt would have this competition to see who could scoop each other. Cookie would get so mad when auntie scooped her." |
