| Biography/History | John and Louis Rickbeil came to the Hamilton area in 1880 from Zurich, Ontario. John was born May 22, 1820, and died March 28, 1912. He homesteaded land four miles west and one mile north of Hamilton. (In between Cavalier, N.D. and Hamilton, N.D.) John and Louise were the parents of five boys and three girls. Jacob Andrew Rickbeil was born to John and Louise on Oct. 25, 1872. He married Caroline Walter Ewig on March 14, 1906. Caroline was born May 19, 1884 and died Oct. 29, 1939. Jacob died in August of 1959. Jacob and Carline farmed his father's land and raised seven children. |
