Biography/HistoryThe Tallman Oil Company's Thirteenth Street Phillips Service Station fire occurred on March 27, 1957, when a gas tank exploded on a car being repaired in the shop. The service station manager, Larry Eggiman, was injured. A second worker, Richard Bjerke and the owner of the car, Francis Dowling were uninjured. The fire spread quickly due to the flowing gasoline, however it was quickly contained by the fire department.
