Transcription"Three pair of eyes- belonging to (left to right) David, Mathew and John - are focused on a model train, which John said was 'something like the one daddy works for.' Mess is a clerk for the Great Northern Railway. The triplets were wide-eyed in every store they visited but didn't cause Mess any trouble keeping them out of trouble, although the tree occasionally split up as each saw something different that caught his fancy." - caption with image published in The Fargo Forum, December 5, 1954, p. 16.
