Biography/HistoryThis image taken of spectators of a house fire happened in the pre-dawn hours of Sunday, August 31, 1952. The home, located at 1405 17th Street S., Fargo, N.D. was owned by Mrs. Francis Perkins. Cal Olson was awarded 3rd place in the spot news classification for this image he entitled "Tragedy" at the Kent State University's 12th annual Short Course in Press Photography, in March 1953.
