Biography/HistoryThe fire at the Northwood Hotel took place on March 26, 1954. It took the lives of eight people. They were Paul Gregory, 75, Crookston, Minn.; Colonel Horn, 34, Grand Forks, N.D.; John Quam, 70, Crookston, Minn.; Angelo Pacifico, 26, Minneapolis, Minn.; Josephine Takle, Kasota, Minn.; Alfred F. Sowl, 43, Duluth, Minn.; Nettie Schmidt, Blackduck, Minn.; and Timan Gullingsrud, Gary, Minn.
