Biography/HistoryJerry Davenport, his wife LuVerne, and two young children were caught in the June 20, 1957 tornado that hit north Fargo, N.D. Driving on Oak Street near El Zagal, Mr. Davenport saw the tornado approaching. He stopped the car, grabbed his 2 year old daughter Kathleen, and his wife grabbed their 7 month old son Jon, and ran to a ditch. In the midst of the tornado, Jon was ripped from his mother's arms. He was later found near El Zagal park as was the couples automobile. All survived the ordeal.
