| Biography/History | Cornelius Blotsky was born in Krasna, Russia on February 24, 1906. He came to the United States in 1909 with his family, and grew up near Raleigh and Solon, N.D. He married Salamea Volk on November 27, 1928. She was born on March 7, 1908, in Grant County, N.D. They farmed near Freda, N.D. until moving to Bismarck, N.D. in 1957. In Bismarck Cornelius worked for the Hoskins-Meyer Greenhouse and the Bismarck Public Schools until his retirement in 1972. Cornelius died on November 2, 1981, in Bismarck, and Salamea died on March 28, 1996, also in Bismarck. They were the parents of eight daughter s and six sons. |
