| Transcription | "Sugar begins to roll from new plant near Moorhead. This huge pile of beets - 2, 400 tons - filling to capacity the shed at the American Crystal Sugar company plant at Moorhead, represents less than the volume required for one-day's run at the factory. When operating normally the plant will slice 2, 500 tons daily. Season run is expected to hit 250, 000 tons. The plant is gradually getting into full production after a start delayed by troubles accompanying new machinery and inexperienced labor. Right is shown the sugar coming off the conveyor and being stacked in the 400, 000 sack capacity warehouse at the plant." - caption with image published in Fargo Forum & Daily Tribune, October 3, 1948, p. 15. |
