| Biography/History | Martin Halvorsen Strandvold was born Trysil, Norway on Nov. 12, 1835 and wife Martea Knutsdatter was born Nov. 29, 1933 at Elverum, Norway. They were married in 1861 at Trysil and came to America in 1868. They settled along Red River northeast of Harwood, N.D. where he established the Trysil post office that operated from 1873 to 1899. They later moved to Washington where he died March 25, 1909 and she on Feb. 8, 1926. |
