"Valley City, N.D. May 17, 1917. Dear Sister. I rec'd your card was so sorrow to hear that Pa & Grandma got hurt, but hope that they are both better by this time. It makes it aful hard for you. Wish I could help you. Now take care of your self as no one else will. The card you sent me was a good one all right. I am just fine wish you was the same. Give my love to Papa tell him I hope he is better by this time. Write me a letter soon with love from Ella." - Handwritten on back of postcard, no postmark.
