Hilsen fra din Fader Christ Bergum (Det er mig som holder Hesten.) - Handwritten in Norwegian on back of postcard. Rough translation: Here you see my home and four of my horses. I now have 10 of them, 8 work horses and 3 fouls and am thinking I will get three next summer if I am lucky. Greetings from your father Christ Bergum (It is me who is holding the horse). |

| Biography/History | Christian Bergum was born in Namsos, Norway. He came to America about 1901. In 1910 Federal Census, he was living with his brother Hartwick Bergum on his brother's homestead in Section 35, Township 161 (Daneville Township), Range 103, in Divide County. South Westby, Mont./N.D. about 10 miles. Christian moved to Coalridge, Montana, where he died on October 16, 1924. |
