Biography/HistoryAbout 1883 the Klinkert brothers came to Fargo and opened the Red River Valley Brewing Company. They built the brewery just south of the Great Northern Railroad tracks near the intersection of Oak Street and 5th Avenue N. The brewery went out of business in 1889 when North Dakota became a state, and prohibition was in the state constitution. The facility remained vacant until about 1909 when it was torn down.
