| Transcription | "This view was taken from the Moorhead end of the Northern Pacific bridge and shows the river looking towards the north bridge. The river was then at the lowest stage ever recorded up to that time. In the background on the Fargo side can be seen the J.I. Case building and Fargo flour mill. The cupola on the Moorhead side was located on the House of Lords saloon, which was located at the corner of First street and First Avenue north. Moorhead then had 48 saloons." - Identification by James Fay, 1954, and typed on identification sheet. |
