Copies of research papers in Lindgren's research papers (292.1.72), including copies of letters written by Christian Scotberget to future wife Anne Furuberget and his sisters, 1861-1865; and Lars Jensen to his wife, 1882.
Biography/HistoryAnne Furnberg (Furuberget) and husband Christian Paulsen Scotsberg (Scotsberget) were born and raised in Grue, Solør, Norway. They came to America in 1868 and married in Dakota County, Minn., and settled at Northfield, Minn. where they had a son Christian. In 1869 Mr. Scotsberg died. Anne resumed her maiden name and came to Dakota Territory in 1871 and settled on farm land where West Fargo is now located. In 1874 she homesteaded in Barnes Township, Cass County, N.D. Circa 1876 she married Lars Peter Jenson who died in 1909. Anne died in 1912.
