Biography/HistoryMargaret Madsen was born in 1862 in Denmark and in 1888 married Norwegian Jacob Fjelde, artist from Ă…lesund, Norway. In 1888 Jacob immigrated to America and settled at Minneapolis, Minn. They raised four children. Jacob died suddenly in 1896. In 1902 Margaret Fjelde and her children came to North Dakota and homesteaded near Wing in Canfield Township, Burleigh County, N.D. After she proved up her claim the family returned to Minneapolis. Margaret died there in 1932.
