| Biography/History | Gurina Holkestad was born in 1883 at Stegen, Norway. She came to America in 1906 and lived several years at Fort Ransom, N.D. In 1911 she homesteaded in McKenzie County near Alexander, N.D. She married Carl Bolken. He was born at Bergen, Norway in 1886 and came with his parents to Tolna, N.D. circa 1894. In 1910 he homesteaded in McKenzie County. They had nine children. Carl died in 1924 and Gurina in 1965. |
