| Biography/History | Anna Helland was born in Hadeland, Norway in 1875. She came to America in 1900 and lived at Fargo, N.D. until homesteading in McLean County, N.D. near present-day Ruso in 1902. Her brothers Peter and Andrew homesteaded near her. She married Albert Kantrud in 1907 who also homesteaded nearby. Albert was born at Rothsay, Minn. They lived on his farm and raised seven children. She died in 1970 and Albert in 1940 at Ruso, N.D. |
