| Transcription | "This photograph appears on the front page of a brochure sent over the country by the Fargo Urban Renewal Agency, showing the centrally located Main Avenue urban renewal area (white portion) for which tentative redevelopment bids have been called returnable June 24. The aerial photo was taken by Kenneth L. Bordner of Development Research, Minneapolis, whose firm was retained to prepare materials for the brochure. The company is an economic research and land planning consultant and associated with Bordner is his son, George E. Bordner. The photo also shows the major portion of Moorhead, which also is in the planning stages of a large urban renewal redevelopment project involving much of the area north of the NP tracks, from 8th Street to the Red River, including all of Center Avenue within that boundary. The three Fargo-Moorhead colleges, North Dakota State University, Concordia and Moorhead State, as well as other points of interest, are shown, along with principal highways leading into both cities." - caption with image published in The Sunday Forum, April 3, 1966, p. B-1. |
