| Biography/History | The building at 601 4th Street S. was built in 1916 and it housed the Lincoln National Life Insurance Co., a branch of Pioneer Life. In 1920 the building was bought by Mrs. Lizzy Eugenia Wells Watson for $25, 000 and it was given to the Fargo College for use as the Conservatory of Music. In 1930 the Fargo College closed and the building reverted back to Mrs. Watson. She then donated the building, in memory of her husband, to the Fine Arts Club under the stipulation that the group maintain it in good condition and that it remain alcohol free. |
