The parsonage was built in 1884.
Biography/HistoryReverend Johannes Marthinus Olson Ness was born on April 28, 1851, in Austefjorden, Volda, Norway to Iver O. Ness and Petrine Jakobsdatter Ness. J.M.O. Ness came to America in 1872 and attended both Luther College in Decorah, Iowa and the Theological Seminary in Madison, Wisconsin. Ness began his pastoral duties in Perley, Minnesota in 1883 and married Susanna Amundson in 1884. The had 7 children: Sarah, Oscar, Olga, Stella, Freda, Johan, and Ralph. Ness served as a minister in the Perely area for twenty-seven years.
Rev. J.M.O Ness was one of the founders of Concordia College and served on the College's governing body from 1891 to 1927.
