The Griggs Courthouse is one of the oldest public buildings in North Dakota having been built five years prior to the 1889 division of Dakota Territory into the states of North and South Dakota. The courthouse exhibits the eclectic style prevalent in American architecture in the late nineteenth century. The Courthouse was entered into the National Register of Historic Places 1977-07-21.
