Biography/HistoryThe City of Mondak gasoline boat was built in Mondak, Montana in 1909 by Edmond E. Senechal. The boat was run in 1909 and 1910 on the Yellowstone River from Mondak, Mont. and Buford, N.D. A branch railroad from Glendive to Mondak forced the Senchals out of the shipping business in the area, but they operated gas packets in the Williston area until 1921.
