Transcription"Located south of Mandan at the Fort Lincoln State Park, the Slant Indian Village was the home of the Mandan Indians, an agricultural tribe. The village received its name from the sloping ground it is situated upon. The Mandan Indians lived in earthlodges which have been reconstructed on the area. A park guide is available to answer questions and to give a brief history of the Mandan Indians. The earthlodges are open for the public to enter and view the Mandan Indian way of life"--Typewritten on label affixed to back of photograph.
