| Transcription | "Located on the Capitol Ground is the 19-story 'Skyscraper of the Prairie' Capitol Building. The capitol is constructed of white Indiana limestone and inside the building you will find a unique blend of foreign and domestic raw materials. The first Capitol Building was destroyed by fire on December 28, 1930 and construction of the Capitol began September 5, 1933 and was completed in 1934 at a cost of $2, 000, 000. The open formal setting of the Capitol Ground reflect the dignity and pride of North Dakota citizens. Located on the grounds are the Governor's Mansion, the Heritage Center, and memorials dedicated to North Dakota's history. Tours of the building are available"--Typewritten on label affixed to back of photograph. |
