The first Northern Pacific Railroad bridge in Valley City was built in 1872, predating the actual existence of the town. This bridge crossed the river in the valley. The bridge seen above, known as the "High Line", was built between 1906 and 1908. This bridge is located one mile upstream of the "Low Line".
