"Dear Friend Jennie, I guess you don't think I intend to write to you. I didn't get a chance to go to Beach for 3 weeks after we [illegible] here, but finally went & saw Mrs. Richards, she said she had some very nice lots near the school house for 95$ a lot, I thought that pretty high but Beach is surely a lively place. I never saw a place of its size & age that did so much business, you can get some idea from this view. This is a great country to make money I never saw as much grain. with best wishes from your friend A. Mengel. Mrs. Jennie Philhott, Loyal, Wis."--Handwritten on back of postcard. |

| Biography/History | The Northern Pacific Railroad built a facility here in 1881. Settlement began in 1900. By 1910, the town had over 1,000 inhabitants. In 1912, Beach became the seat of Golden Valley County. |
