"Dear Minnie, I got my waist it all right. Allie sent me a dress last week. I suppose if you & Allie did not send me cloths I do [illegible] out did that freg. her & you garden it [illegible] some. the [illegible] and some flowers. You did not tell me how your incubator hatched. mine is to hatch today. not a egg [illegible] yet have 117 turkey eggs set, 29 geese egg, 95 duck eggs and 23 duck, 8 geese. No fruit this year. I don't think it is ranching. Mrs Minnie Triplett, Peterson, Ia."--Handwritten on back of postcard.

Biography/HistoryThe first soldier was admitted to this facility in 1893. In 1899 a hospital was built and in 1907 the commandant's quarters were built. All original structures were red brick.
