"Minot, N. Dak. Apr 27, '16 Dear Friend: We arrived in Dak. all O.K. my sister was certainly glad to see us. We are having a glorious time. It is quite cold here yet won't make garden for a couple wks. The roads are quite bad here how are they down there? We started to town Fri. with the car and got stuck twice going 5 mi. had to be pulled out both times so we turned around and came back home. I think we can go by the last of the wk. the wind dries the roads. There was a car out from town today but said the road were not very good yet. will close now [illegible]. From Your Friend Mrs. N. Merrick, Minot, N. Dak. R.R.3. Mrs. Emil Hoffman, Marquaketa, Iowa"--Handwritten on back of postcard.
