| Biography/History | The steamboat Nellie Peck, a sternwheel packet with a wood hull, was built in Brownsville, Pa., in 1871. She made 14 trips to Fort Benton, Montana. In 1872 she and the Far West competed in a 2,800-mile race from Sioux City to Fort Benton and return, which the Far West won. |
