| Biography/History | John Moses was born in Norway, and came to North Dakota in 1905. He worked for the Great Northern Railway, and as a lawyer and state's attorney before becoming governor in 1939. After leaving the governor's office, he ran for and won Gerald P. Nye's senate seat, but died soon after entering the Senate in 1945. Fred Aandahl grew up in Litchville, N.D. and was a teacher and Superintendent of Schools there. He was a leader of the Republican Organizing Committee, and served as governor between 1945 and 1951. He later served in Congress, and was Assistant Secretary of the Department of the Interior. |
