Description	I Stop with John Hilger when I am in town they are very kind and doing well he has a fine garden and sold a lot of potatoes and onions for 3 dollars a bushel yesterd the crops are Splendid here but there not many farmers yet the most of them raise cattle butter is worth 25 and 30 cts a pound but the people are too lazy to make it they let the calves have it all tell your Mother I will make a present of that heifer to her and about My Mare I ant afrad of loosing her for I know she wasnt stolen I forgot to tell you before I was much pleased with Philip on the trip let me know what John is doing A person can leave here in the morning and and be home the next day at 10 o clock if I dont come down for you you can have a fine visit with your friends in St Paul before you come you get on in the evening and come here the next evening without changing cars If I go down it will cost me 50 dollars to make the trip and it is a good dealHoping to hear from you soon I will close in Sending My Love to all the folks and a Kiss to Yours Self Your Loving Husband L ConnollyI wish you were here I am tired cooking
