The Niels Nielson barn was constructed in 1914 by Niels Nielsen. The barn was constructed from a kit recieved from the Chicago House Wrecking Company which offered salvaged building parts as well as newly cut buildings. Niels Nielsen was born in Denmark in 1880 and came to America as a child. He homesteaded the farm southeast of Noonan at age 23. His holding eventually grew to 800 acres in size, one of the larger operations in the county. This barn was entered into the National Register of Historic Places as part of a Round Barn Thematic nomination 1986-08-21.
