DescriptionThe exterior of the two story Cecil Baker round barn. The first eight feet of the structure from the poured concrete foundation has horizontal board siding, while the top portion has the original vertical siding. The conical gambrel roof flares outward slightly at the eave line and is covered in wood shingles. Another structure can be seen at the right, while at the left is a piece of farm machinery. Two different types of fencing can be seen on either side of the barn.

Biography/HistoryThe two story Cecil Baker round barn near Kensal was built in 1921 from plans received from the Gordon-Vantine Company of Davenport, Iowa. Cecil Baker moved to North Dakota in 1903 from Iowa. This particular barn is significant as it is one of the state's most intact examples of the style and contains many labor saving items from the time. The structure was entered into the National Register of Historic Places 1986-08-21 as part of a Round Barn Thematic Nomination.
