Biography/HistoryFranklin School was built in 1909-1910 and is the oldest public school building remaining in Jamestown. The first principal of Franklin School was Emma Thompson, and notable students included Major General William E. DePuy and Louis L'Amour. The school was entered into the National Register of Historic Places 2002-05-09.
