| Biography/History | The former Semevolos house was built around 1906 near Butte, N.D. Architecturally the home is a near "textbook" example of one of two identified Ukranian immigrant building types. This type is refered to as the "Galacian subtype" and was typical of the dwellings erected by Ukrainians in western Alberta. The long side entry, hipped roof with non-used loft and blue door color are all halmarks of this subtype. The home also exhibits characteristics of the "Bukowinian subtype". The home was entered into the National Register of Historic Places 1987-10-01. |
