Biography/HistoryEsther Wishek was born in 1894 and married Carl Tange in 1919. They operated farms at Outlook, Mont. before moving to Whittier, Calif. They had five children: Nina Tange, Margaret Tange, Helen Tange, Carl Tange Jr., and John Tange.
Anna Wishek was born in 1896. She married Ryland Benson in 1918. He died in 1934, and she never remarried. She had four children: Barbara Benson, Louise Anne Benson Beterson Wiese, Joan Farley Benson, Ryland Reese Benson.
Jean Wishek was born in 1902 and married Norman Ofsthun in 1927 and lived in Palm Springs, Calif. They had one daughter, Jeannette Ofsthun.
Carl Wishek was born October 14, 1898 at Ashley. He graduated from the Wharton School of Commerce at the University of Pennsylvania. He married Eva Campanella, He was later a banker with the Farmers and Merchants Bank of Lodi, California. He and Eva had two children, Sheila Marie Wishek, born 1936 and Carl Allison Wishek, born 1938.
John H. Wishek Jr. was born in 1900 and married Lillian Mielke in 1926. He taught school, worked at the First State Bank of Wishek, and was involved with the Wishek Concrete Products and Lumber. He was head of the North Dakota Securities Commission under Governor Welford. He was killed in a plane crash in Bismarck in 1949. He and his wife had five daughters: Lillian, Virginia, Jonna, Roberta, and Nina. Max Wishek was born in 1901. He attended Ashley schools, then UND and the University of Michigan, where he got a law degree. He practiced law with his brother Homer, and was elected states attorney of McIntosh County. He married Viola Hezel in 1925. They had two children: Max Jr. and Saloma.
Homer Wishek was born in 1906, and practiced law with his brother Max in Ashley. He married Justine McCarthy in 1930 and had two children: Homer Jr. and Susan. Paul Wishek was born in 1908 and married Kathryn Prophet. They moved to California and had three children: Barbara, Paula, and Catherine. Paul later married Audrey Whistler and had two more children: Nicholas and Cherie.
