| Biography/History | Oscar Jorgenson was the son of Peter and Betsy Jorgenson. He was born in 1901 in Springfield Township, N.D. near Leeds. He never married and later in life lived with his sister Gunda at his father's home near Leeds. He died in 1981 in Leeds. Gunda Jorgenson was born in 1894 in Towner County. She never married and helped her brother Oscar keep the family farm near Leeds. She died in 1986. Laura Jorgenson was born in 1896 in Towner County, N.D. and was the daughter of Peter and Betsy Jorgenson. She attended high school at Leeds, N.D. and graduated from the University of North Dakota. She taught grade school for two years. In 1924 she married Oscar Paulson of Thief River Falls, Minn. Together, they had four children: Robert, Bruce, James, and Patricia.George Jorgenson was born in 1898 in Springfield Township in Towner county. He married Magnil Medhus in 1928 in Devils Lake. They had five children: Richard, Betsy, Ardis, and Inez and Ione, twin girls. Emma Jorgenson was born in Springfield Township, N.D. in 1900. She married Arne Skeie in 1931. They farmed near the rest of the Jorgenson family near Leeds, N.D. Emma and Arne had three children: Jean, Eileen, and Shirley. Carl Jorgenson was born in 1903 in Leeds. He married Gladys Nestergard in Leeds in 1932. They had five children: Joann, Curtis, James, Ronald, and Jerry.He died in 1992 at Rugby. Palmer Jorgenson was born in 1908 in Leeds. He married Bernice Bennes in 1936 at Leeds. They had four children: Philip, Linda, Larry, and Lois. |
