Biography/HistoryFire broke out around 4 p.m. on April 19 in the Security Building in downtown Grand Forks that would spread to 11 buildings. Helicopters were used to fight the fires, and fire trucks could not maneuver through the flooded streets, and there was no water pressure in the downtown fire hydrants.
