| Biography/History | Elmore Sarles arrived in Hillsboro N.D. in 1881 and formed the Traill County Bank. He was the president of the nationalized First National Bank of Hillsboro in 1885. He founded a line of retail lumberyards, and was mayor of Hillsboro before being elected governor in 1905. |
