The judge's bench is also a dark wood and is flanked behind by two red paneled wall sections. The ceiling features a unique design consisting of carved octagonal shapes, some of which hold recessed lighting. |

| Biography/History | The Barnes County Courthouse is a large, three-story edifice with a basement, a brick and tile structural system, and Indiana limestone facing. There are four columns above the entry, a balustrade above the cornice, a three part horizontal composition, corner pilasters, and cleanly lined fenestration. The courthouse was designed by the Minneapolis architectural firm of Toltz, King and Day and was built around 1925. |
