The Billings County Courthouse in Medora (N.D.) was originally built as a dwelling (possibly in the 1880s) and was later converted to a courthouse and jail. A second story was added to the building in 1913, and subsequent additions were added in 1953. In 1976 the courthouse was sheathed in red cedar to replace the original white paint scheme. The courthouse was entered into the National Register of Historic Places 1977-12-16.
