The Lucken Farm near Portland, North Dakota was built by Halleck E. Lucken, the son of Norwegian immigrants in 1888. It is a significant example of early homesteading and farming in the Red River Valley of the North. Halleck was a farmer, politician and educator as well as a businessman. He and his wife Ingborg (Belle) Anderson raised four daughters at the farm. After their parent's deaths, the daughters retained ownership of the farm. One of Halleck and Ingborg's granddaughters is restoring the farm. The farm was entered into the National Register of Historic Places 1986-05-14.
