| Description | The Dickey County Courthouse in Ellendale, North Dakota conforms to classical elements in its construction. Constructed of dark brown brick and white limestone cornices and trim, the building features a belvedere finial with belcast roof and a front facade door surround with bracketed arched hood. Fluted Corinthian columns are flanked by plain brick pilasters with limestone cartouches engraved "AD" and "1910". |

| Biography/History | Built in 1910, the Dickey County Courthouse in Ellendale, North Dakota, is an example of the classical style of many courthouses designed by the St. Paul, Minnesota architectural firm of Buchner and Orth between 1905 and 1919. These courthouses feature domed roofs, classical columns, skylights, murals ,and wall stenciling. The courthouse was entered into the National Register of Historic Places 1980-11-25. |
